Jockey Club ‘Craft Your Life Together’ Co-living Community Project
SideBySide is honored to receive funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust in 2018 to carry out a redevelopment project of the 25-year-old Shau Kei Wan House, and launch the Jockey Club ‘Craft Your Life Together’ Co-living Community Project (JCCCP). JCCCP is the first ever co-living project in Hong Kong that provides a one-stop accommodation and support services for Out-of-home Youths (OHYs) and Persons in Recovery (PIRs) to address their needs in personal development and social connection.

Project Objectives
The Project aims to support the two target groups to go through critical transitions in life journey, and assist them in building social capitals and realising independence and autonomy in the community to achieve a sustainable and meaningful life.
Target Service Users
Out-of-home Youths (OHYs): aged 16 to 26 that are leaving residential child care service or with a lack of family support and cannot move back to their own families
Persons in Recovery (PIRs): male aged 15 or above with ex-mentally illness, stable mental and physical health condition

Vision and Mission
JCCCP has partnered with the UK Foyer Federation to introduce the Foyer Approach, a youth accommodation development model originating from the UK and supported by governments in Europe, America, and Australia. The project plans to achieve the vision of certifying the "Jockey Club Key House" as Asia's first Youth Foyer within the next three years.

Committed to establishing the first Youth Foyer in Asia, creating a new co-living service model for youth without family and persons in recovery.
Mission
Provide one-stop accommodation, vocational development and community connection services to support the target service groups during critical transition periods in their lives, enabling them to achieve independence and establish a sustainable and meaningful life in the community.
